The Challenge
A National Superstore experiencing outdated practices with endcap marketing urgently required a better way to utilize and monetize the space. With a lack of adequate staffing to rotate and stock endcap products, the displays were never up-to-date or lacked customer engagement, inevitably not generating the expected traffic or revenue. Collecting detailed data on the effectiveness of product placement was necessary for success, but never prioritized.
The Work
ANDX modernized the endcap spaces with dynamic digital displays, utilizing our CMS for ad placement and scheduling combined with RAVE’s video monitoring technology to trigger customer-specific ad content. 5G WiFi network was installed to optimize the digital display connectivity and performance.
Ceiling cameras equipped with RAVE software measured how many people were walking past, how many were stopping, how many were in queue, overall store customer flow, wait time, and demographic data.
Our Ad sales team provided support to fill their ad schedule to maximize profit, utilizing revenue to subsidize technology costs. QR coded coupons were included in ads to push products.

The Payoff
With real-time, targeted advertising, our client was able to optimize the customer experience. ANDX was able to collect and provide ad purchasers with quantifiable end-cap effectiveness data on who purchased based on the ads they saw and align that with point-of-sale data. Product placement revenue increased as a direct result of more accurate flow data.
